The Black sash is created during the apartheid era by a group of women. Today, The Black sash active in helping poor people with their social problems. They also provide legal help and work with women's rights.

The Alternate Informationa and Development Centre seeks to place an intern for a 3-6 month period. The intern will be placed in amandla media project of the AIDC, and will be expected to assist in related AIDC projects. This is an exciting oppurtunity for students who have an interest in media, journalism, or social justice work.
